DA3 Project 1 Artist Statement

For our first project, I wanted to encapsulate an idea of a possible future that we cannot fathom quite yet; My project encompasses images of aliens and robots working in corporate or high esteemed jobs like weatherperson, businessman, model, priest and chef. I chose to do my project on this due to the advances in technology over the past few years, especially AI, and how the responses to AI are becoming much more intelligent. I also was thinking about how there could be alien life out in the cosmos as there has been many sightings of Unidentified Foreign Objects (UFO’s) quite recently. Together, these two subjects can change the life as we well know it if they ever gain sentient life or come to our planet. I also just thought it would be interesting to picture these two subjects in jobs that are respected within the world. At the beginning of this project, I started with two ideas: Futuristic Corporate Life and What Does AI Dream About? As they both are interesting to me, I thought that Futuristic Corporate Life was more interesting and gave more interesting AI searches. Throughout this project, I mostly used Dall-E to get my images, but I also tried a little bit of MidJourney. To glitch, I predominantly used Audacity to glitch my images, but I also used a lot of TextEdit and the pixel sorting methods too. I find that Audacity gives me more colorful and interesting pieces whereas pixel sorting is either a hit or miss. I wish I used some photoshop to glitch my images, but I unfortunately did not. Overall, I am pretty pleased with my outcomes, and I think my project was really strong, but I definitely could have utilized different apps.
