Independent Study Project 2 and 3 Brainstorm Blog

Updated: Oct 31, 2023

Oh wow, here we go - the first blender project of the semester! I'm really excited about this one and I have so many hopes for this project. Corrina, my professor, has sent me this tutorial via LinkedIn and I can already tell it's going to help me so much for understanding how to do more complex things on Blender. As I've worked with Blender before, there are always new ideas and new things to try on this application so I'm excited to take this crash course and see how I can expand on my learning. I've never worked with sculpting before and that's what I'm really excited to do the most even though I don't know if I have all of the tools to do it. I've been looking on YouTube a lot to see what professional animators use in their work and I've been seeing this "sketchpad" that you use to make more defined characteristics in your character. It is able to gauge how hard you are pressing down on your pen so that it can correctly apply that to the character but unfortunately, I don't have one of those yet, so we will just see how it comes out. I have pretty high hopes for this project. I really want to be able to put this on my portfolio so that grad schools (when I start applying) can see how much I've been learning. Maybe they won't like it as much since it's not an original work but you've got to start somewhere so why not here. Hopefully, in the future, I'll be able to execute my own ideas into a blender project, but for now, I'm just trying to learn a little bit more about the interface.
